To gain a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms driving virus acquisition, circulation and transmission by whiteflies, we performed global transcriptome analysis on whiteflies during the first three days of acquisition of Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) or Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV). We also performed transcriptome sequencing on whitefly eggs, nymphs and pupae to expand the whitefly transcript catalog and to help genome annotation.
