SRX1803187: RNA-seq of Alligator mississippiensis: gonad of embryo incubated at FPT for 3 days
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 36.6M spots, 7.4G bases, 4.1Gb downloads

Design: We incubated eggs at female-producing temperature (FPT, 30.0 deg C) until developmental stage 19. Then, we increased the incubation temperature of half of the eggs to male-producing temperature (MPT, 33.5 deg C) and incubated at both temperatures. We harvested eggs at either stage 19 or after 3 or 30 days of incubation after stage 19. We subdissected the gonad, adrenal, and mesonephros tissues and performed RNA-seq on each.

show Abstracthide Abstract
The American alligator, like all other crocodilians and many other reptiles, undergoes temperature-dependent sex determination, in which the incubation temperature of an egg determines its eventual sex. In this study, we sequence transcriptomes from gonad, adrenal, and mesonephros tissues of alligator embryos incubated at different temperatures for different lengths of time.
Sample: gonad tissue from A. mississippiensis embryo incubated at 30.0 deg C (female-producing temperature) for three days after developmental stage 19
