This project seeks to develop sequence subtraction databases to enhance the capability of viral detection, discovery and characterization in priority cell lines and organisms. Established sequence subtraction databases will enhance our ability to identify novel viruses that impact humans and agriculture. Our work has prioritized sequence subtraction databases for seven cell lines/organisms as follows: 1) Aedes albopictus C6/36 cells, 2) Jurkat human T-cells, 3) Huh7 cells, 4) HepG2 cells, 5) Xenopsylla cheopis 6) Ixodes scapularis ISE6 cells and 7) sugarcane cultivar Saccharum spp. CP96-1252 . Subtraction databases of these organisms will enhance the capability to discover, detect and characterize viruses that impact humans and agriculture.
