Study: Brain RNA-seq one day after knockdown of the corazonin receptor in Harpegnathos ants
show Abstracthide Abstract
This experiment aimed at determining the immediate (d1) transcriptional consequences of knockding down the corazonin receptor in the ant brain. Overall design: Dueling Harpegnathos individuals were removed from the transition colony and injected with corazonin receptor or GFP siRNAs to perform mRNA knockdown
Sample: GFP KD control - rep3 (t1)

Library:
Instrument: NextSeq 500
Strategy: RNA-Seq
Source: TRANSCRIPTOMIC
Selection: cDNA
Layout: SINGLE
Construction protocol: Brains (minus optic lobes) were dissected and RNA extracted with TRIzol. DNA was removed using Turbo DNase. Each brain was used to construct a separate library (biological replicate). RNA was fragmented by boiling in presence of divalent cations. RT was performed with random hexamers and dUTP was incorporated in the 2nd strand to retain strand information. Strand-specific RNA-seq (dUTP)
