SRX314649: mRNA sequencing of Arctic charr gill tissue (Family 12; freshwater; control; no. 735)
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 11.4M spots, 2.3G bases, 1.5Gb downloads

Design: Poly-A mRNA was isolated from total RNA and purified using ploy-T oligo-attached magnetic beads. mRNA was fragmented into pieces using divalent cations under elevated temperature, and copied into cDNA using reverse transcriptase and random primers. Following the ligation of adaptors, cDNA templates were purified and amplified with PCR.

show Abstracthide Abstract
Different tissues are examined from whole salmonid fishes (e.g., rainbow trout or Arctic charr) that represent phenotypic extreme responses to environmental states (e.g., uniform-aged large & small fish representing growth extremes, or fish demonstrating high versus low stress responses).
Sample: Generic sample from Salvelinus alpinus
