1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 1000) run: 17.4M spots, 3.5G bases, 2.1Gb downloads

Design: 8 males were dissected to remove testes and heads. The testes from these males were then pooled and RNA was extracted using a mirVana kit (Ambion) followed by genomic DNA removal using DNAfree kit (Ambion). Multiplexed Illumina libraries were prepared and sequenced at UMD's IBBR sequencing facility using standard Illumina paired-end kits and protocols.
