SRX5256829: RNA-Seq of Golden phoenix and Water lily mangoes:unripe mesocarp
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2500) run: 47.4M spots, 14.2G bases, 5.2Gb downloads

Design: Equal amount of total RNA from three individual fruit of Golden phoenix and Water lily varieties respectively were pooled. Poly (A+) mRNA was enriched using Oligo-dT magnetic beads and then fragmented. Then cDNA was synthesized and then subjected to end repair, adaptor ligation and PCR amplification. After selective enrichment of the library by PCR, preparations were sequenced using the Illumina HiSeq 2500.

Study: Comparative transcriptomic analysis of SouthEast Asian mangoes during ripening
show Abstracthide Abstract
Fruit ripening is an irreversible process that leads to the alteration of the physicochemical characteristics to produce an edible of desired quality. However, excessive softening during ripening poses a challenge in the transportability and marketability of this economically important fruit crop. Although studies have carried out the RNA-Seq analysis on mango during ripening, there is no report yet utilizing mangoes grown in the Southeast Asia (a large producer of mango), hence this study. The results provide important insights that will be useful in future strategies to improve mango fruit quality.
