In the first experiment, fruits were sampled to study expression at different stages of fruit development at 15, 45, 75, 105, 120, 135 days post-pollination. In the second experiment, fruits were collected at "khalal stage" to study expression at this stage. Each experiment included multiple varieties of date palm.
