SRX8589105: RNA-seq of Aplysia california: 11 months PVC
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2500) run: 20M spots, 3.7G bases, 2.4Gb downloads

Design: total RNA extracted with Qiagen RNEasy Micro-kit from homogenized sensory neuron clusters. Libraries generated with Illumina TruSeq mRNA Stranded HT kit. Total RNA was poly-A selected with oligo-dT beads. First strand synthesis was random primed. Libraries were multiplexed and sequenced across 8 lanes on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 as paired end 100 base pair reads.

Study: Aplysia californica Sensory Neuron Time Series Transcriptome
show Abstracthide Abstract
The goal of this study is to sequence the transcriptomes of targeted sensory neuron clusters in the Aplysia californica nervous system over the course of the adult aging process to identify transcriptional events that underpin neuronal and cognitive dysfunction previously observed to occur in this model species. This is the first such time series RNAseq experiment to be done in the A. californica nervous system.
