SRX9151580: HOM2012-238 RNA-seq
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 48M spots, 9.6G bases, 5.7Gb downloads

Design: Samples were stored in RNALater according to the manufacturer's instructions. Samples were removed from RNALater and homogenized in TriReagent. Chloroform was added (200 uL / mL TriReagent), shaken, centrifuged and 600 uL of the top layer was added to an equal volume of 70% ethanol. RNA was isolated and cleaned using a Qiagen RNeasy mini kit with an on column DNaseI digestion (Qiagen). RNA was eluted into molecular biology grade water and the quality was determined using an Agilent Bioanalyzer.

Study: Homarus americanus Genome sequencing and assembly
show Abstracthide Abstract
The goal of this study was de novo sequencing and assembly of the American lobster genome. The American lobster, Homarus americanus (Milne-Edwards 1837), is a decapod crustacean of ecological and commercial importance. It forms the foundation of one of the largest and most valuable fisheries along the northeast Atlantic coast of North America, and also serves as a valuable model organism for the study of neural networks. This genome will provide a valuable tool for both conservation and biomedical advancements.
