show Abstracthide AbstractFrom water samples collected in the western basin of Lake Erie, 13 bacterial isolates that degrade microcystin-LR were identified. These environmental bacteria, identified as being from genera Emticicia, Pseudomonas, Runella, Caulobacter, Cellulophaga, Rhizobium, and Porphyrobacter, were sequenced and a draft genome assembled. The genome identified no known microcystin-LR degrading genes or orthologs, but 83 aminopeptidases that may putatively interact with the microcystin-LR structure were identified.
