Study: Integrated Transcriptomic and Proteomic Analyses revealed OxyR affects to oxidative stress and Virulence of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
show Abstracthide Abstract
Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae is the etiological agent of porcine pleuropneumonia, a contagious respiratory disease characterized by fibrinohemorrhagic necrotizing bronchopneumonia and fibrinous pleuritis, which causes high economic losses on pig farms worldwide. OxyR is a key regulator in response to oxidative stress in bacteria. It is a thiol-containing transcriptional activator whose oxidation can bind DNA and controls the expression of genes involved in H2O2 detoxification. The applicant analyzed OxyR gene in the genome of A. pleuropneumoniae. We use gene mutation, RNA-seq and iTRAQ technology to elucidate the mechanism of OxyR regulation. The completion of the project has great significance for elucidating the OxyR biological function and pathogenesis of A. pleuropneumoniae.
