This is a De novo whole genome assembly of a male budgerigar, a small parrot from Australia (Melopsittacus undulatus). The estimated size of the haploid genome is 1.23 Gb.

This is a hybrid assembly incorporating 454 and Illumina sequence reads. ... There is approximately 16x coverage with 454 shotgun and 3kb, 8kb and 20kb paired end sequences. There is approximately 7x coverage with Illumina paired-end reads with 400-600bp inserts.
