Prospective Authors

The GeneReviews editorial staff is pleased to invite authors to contribute to GeneReviews.

The GeneReviews mission is to provide clinically relevant genetic information at the point of care for clinicians caring for affected individuals and their families. With an estimated 15,500 daily users, GeneReviews is a highly valued resource in the medical community.

A GeneReview chapter may be authored by an individual or a group.

Requirements for authoring a GeneReview:

  • You/your group must have at least one peer-reviewed publication on the disorder.
  • The lead author must be a physician involved in the care of individuals with the disorder.
  • The lead author is responsible for selecting the authoring team, coordinating the team's efforts, and interfacing with GeneReviews on behalf of the team.

To offer to author a GeneReview, please email ude.wu@tssamda and include the following:

  • Your name and affiliation
  • Name of the disorder for which you are offering to write a GeneReview
  • PDFs of at least one and no more than three peer-reviewed publications on the disorder on which you are an author
  • Other experience that you or your group have with this disorder, or why this disorder would be important to have as a GeneReview

The GeneReviews Editors will review all offers – considering our mission and the chapters already in process – and respond by email within one to three weeks.
