A collection of 5760 full length cDNA clones from the human infant brain 1NIB library kindly gifted by Genethon as bacterial colonies in 96-well microtitre plates. These clones were characterized by 5' and 3' sequencing. Plasmids containing clones were grown in Escherichia coli by standard microbiological methods. Each insert was PCR amplified (30 cycles) by sampling 1 µl of cell culture with vector primers. To obtain a sufficient amount of probes, a second run of PCR, consisting of 20 cycles, was performed using the same set of primers. PCR products ranged from 600 to 4000 bp in length. The PCR products were prepared in 96-well plates, purified by ethanol precipitation, washed in 70% ethanol, dried, dissolved in TE/DMSO (50/50) and stored at -80°C. PCR products were arrayed on amino-silane coated glass slide (Corning CMT-GAPS II) using a MicroGrid-II Micro-arrayer (BioRobotics, Cambridge, UK). Keywords = cDNA array, PCR products
