Title |
Dynamics of the transcriptional landscape during human gonad development during fetal life |
Organism |
Homo sapiens |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Fetal life is a crucial period for sexual reproduction when bipotential gonads differentiate into either a testis or an ovary. Gaining insights into the complex molecular events underlying this process is central to a better understanding of disorders of sexual development. The present work therefore intends to improve the knowledge on molecular pathways at play during gonad development in humans using RNA-Sequencing.

Overall design |
To define the transcriptional landscape of fetal human gonad in greater detail, we extracted and sequenced RNA (library Ribozero, 2x50 pb paired-end, strand specific, on Illumina HiSeq 2500) from testes and ovaries at 6, early 7, late 7, 9, 12, 13-14 and 17 weeks of gestation (n=4 or 2).
The 'Supplementary_table_for_GEO.xlsx' contains all of the information associated with the reconstructed transcripts.
