Title |
Comparative Transcriptomic Signature of the Simulated Microgravity Response in C. elegans |
Organism |
Caenorhabditis elegans |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
N2 worms were cultured in ground control conditions for three weeks, exposed to simulated microgravity for four days. Next, the maintained impact in the gene expression after the exposure was investigated after return to ground condition on days four, eight, and twelve.

Overall design |
The animals were cultured in CeHR medium for three weeks after synchronization for allowing acclimatization to liquid conditions and reducing the effects of liquid cultivation on gene expression profiles. The ground control animals were maintained in CeHR medium in 20 mL scintillation. Then, the worms were exposed to clinostat-simulated microgravity for four days and the maintained impacts were observed at four, eight, and twelve days after placing the worms back to ground control conditions
