Title |
RNA-sequencing analysis of genetically identical female and male Daphnia magna with age |
Organism |
Daphnia magna |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Comparison of female and male Daphnia magna gene expression with age. The sexes in Daphnia magna are genetically identical. The aim of this study was to identify possible differences in gene expression between genders with age.

Overall design |
RNA was extracted from samples with approximately equivalent dry mass using RNeasy Micro Kit (Qiagen Ltd, UK). The RNA-seq libraries were prepared using the Illumina TruSeq standard mRNA kit and sequenced (2x100bp) using Illumina Hi-Seq 4000 platform at BGI, Denmark.
