Title Koala methylomes reveal divergent and conserved DNA methylation signatures of X chromosome regulation
Organism Phascolarctos cinereus
Experiment type Methylation profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary We examined genome-wide patterns of DNA methylation from whole genome DNA methylation maps of five tissues (brain, kidney, lung, skeletal muscle, and pancreas) from one male koala and one female koala (Phascolarctos cinereus), and present the first whole genome, multi-tissue “methylome atlas” with information on tissue- and sex-specific variation of DNA methylation for a marsupial.

Overall design Whole genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) data from 5 tissues, brain, kidney, lung, skeletal muscle, and pancreas, for one male (Ben) and one female koala (PC) sequenced by the Ramaciotti Centre for Genomics for methylome sequencing using NovaSeq6000. 2 sequencing runs were performed per sample.
