Title Effects of a single dose of psilocybin on behaviour, brain 5-HT2A receptor occupancy and gene expression in the pig
Organism Sus scrofa
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary mRNA sequencing of pig prefrontal cortex after treatment with one dose of psilocybin or placebo (saline).

Overall design Adolescent female Danish slaughter pigs of 20kg were used. A single dose of 0.08mg/kg psilocybin or saline was administered iv while the pig was awake and freely roaming around. Either 1day or 1 week later the pigs were euthanized by iv pentobarbital overdose. N=6/group: Saline 1day; Psilocybin 1day, Saline 1week, Psilocybin 1week
