Title Comparison of transcriptomic responses to pancreas disease (PD) and heart and skeletal muscle inflammation (HSMI) in heart of Atlantic salmon
Organism Salmo salar
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary PD and HSMI are viral diseases that cause heavy damages in Atlantic salmon aquaculture. This study was performed to examine and compare the time-courses of transcriptome responses to the causative agents - salmon alphavirus (SAV) and piscine reovirus (PRV).

Overall design Two challenge trials were carried out and samples were collected at four (SAV) and five (PRV) time-points. Analyses were run in heart, the most infected and damaged tissue.
