Title |
Transcriptional profiling to elucidate processes regulated by 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (CNPase) in Salmonella Typhimurium 14028s (Salmonella) I. |
Organism |
Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhimurium |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The impact of Ribonuclease I (RNase I) on global gene expression in Salmonella was investigated by deletion of the 'rna' gene which encodes RNase I. RNase I is capable of hydrolyzing RNA into 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide monophosphates (2',3'-cNMPs) such that deletion of 'rna' drastically reduces 2',3'-cNMPs presence to undetectable levels. This 'rna' deletion mutant was compared to Salmonella 14028s WT strain.

Overall design |
Global transcript levels in a 'rna' deletion strain of Salmonella were compared to levels in 14028s WT control cells in order to identify cellular processes modulated by RNase I.
