For one exp, liver was obtained from daughters of slick bulls (Blanco or Lone Ranger) ; daughters inherited 0 (FREE) or 1 (SLICK) copies of the SLICK allele. For the other study, liver was obtained from animals with 1 (S1) or 2 (S2) copies of the SLICK allele
