Title |
Small RNA sequencing during salinity stress response in chickpea (small RNA-Seq) |
Organism |
Cicer arietinum |
Experiment type |
Non-coding RNA profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
In this study, we have identified small RNA during salinity stress response in chickpea. Small RNA library was prepared and sequencing was performed using Illumina platform. A total of 79 million reads were generated. These reads were mapped to the chickpea genome using Bowtie.

Overall design |
Total RNA was isolated from the control and stress samples of roots of ICCV2 and JG62 and small RNA library was prepared using TruSeq Small RNA Sample Prep Kit (Illumina Technologies) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Raw reads were obtained in FASTQ files were pre-processed to remove low-quality reads. Unique reads were mapped to the chickpea genome using Bowtie. Non-redundant set of uniquely mapped small RNA reads were retained for further processing.
