Title Using the Daphnia magna Transcriptome to Distinguish Water Source: Wetland and Stormwater Case Studies
Organism Daphnia magna
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Investigation of mRNA expression (using HiSeq 2500) in response to treatment of Daphnia magna to pyriproxyfen, wetland water, or stormwater samples.

Overall design Four day treatment of D.magna to wetland waters with and without pyriproxyfen or stormwaters collected seasonally and with and without in situe water treatment controls. RNA was extracted from whole organism treated and control D.magna and mRNA was sequenced to assess gene expression in response to the experimental treatments.
