Summary |
We used single-embryo sequencing to characterize early zygotic gene expression in Drosophila. The data provide the first continuous timeline of transcript levels during early development (≤ 3 hours) in Drosophila melanogaster.

Overall design |
RNA from single Drosophila embryos was isolated and subjected to a modified CelSeq2 single-cell RNA-sequencing protocol. Pseudo-temporal analysis of the single embryo transcriptomes provides a high-resolution, time-sensitive picture of transcriptional events during early embryonic development.
