Title Impact of the vitamin B12 on the transcriptional regulation of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis Complex
Organisms Mycobacterium tuberculosis variant bovis; Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary The transcriptome in response to vitamin B12 was interrogated in three M. tuberculosis Complex species: M. tuberculosis H37Rv, M. tuberculosis GC1237, and M. bovis AF2122/97. Examination of the core B12 transcriptome resulted in a robust differential regulation of 7 genes in the three species analysed

Overall design Each Mycobacterium tuberculosis heterotypic synonym (M. tuberculosis H37Rv, M. tuberculosis GC1237, and M. bovis AF2122/97) was grown in standard laboratory media supplemented with or without vitamin B12. Two replicates of each strain were processed in each condition (2 with B12 and 2 without B12 for each strain). RNA was extracted and subjected to RNA-seq. Expression profiles for each DNA strand (plus and minus) were obtained for the three species analysed.
