Title Transcription profiling by array of mouse hepatocytes following treatment with growth factor beta 1 in a time series
Platform organism Homo sapiens
Sample organism Mus musculus
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary To obtain a comprehensive view on the TGF-beta effects in primary mouse hepatocytes, Affymetrix microarrays were performed. We aimed at detecting early (1h), intermediate (6h) and late (24h and 48h) target genes.

Overall design Primary hepatocytes were used as an in vitro model to detect TGF-beta effects on the expression profile. In primary cell cultures, the majority of hepatocytes survive despite activated TGF-beta signaling. These cells display phenotypic characteristics for (partial) EMT and fibrogenesis.
