Title Retinal inflammation mediated by mineralocorticoid receptor activation depends on its ligands
Organism Rattus norvegicus
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary Transgenic rats overexpressing human mineralocorticoid receptor (hMR) under the control of the ecologic promotor 1 (P1.hMR rats) were used as well as their WT littermates. We observed low grade inflammation, RPE abnormatilites and anatomical signs of choroidal neuropathy in these rats. Bulk-transcriptomic analysis of neuroretinas was peformed to identify potential mechanisms.

Overall design Animals were sacrified and eyes were freshly dissected to extract RNA from neuroretinas for transcriptomic analysis.
