Title |
Retinal inflammation mediated by mineralocorticoid receptor activation depends on its ligands |
Organism |
Rattus norvegicus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Transgenic rats overexpressing human mineralocorticoid receptor (hMR) under the control of the ecologic promotor 1 (P1.hMR rats) were used as well as their WT littermates. We observed low grade inflammation, RPE abnormatilites and anatomical signs of choroidal neuropathy in these rats. Bulk-transcriptomic analysis of neuroretinas was peformed to identify potential mechanisms.

Overall design |
Animals were sacrified and eyes were freshly dissected to extract RNA from neuroretinas for transcriptomic analysis.
