Title Gene expression profile of single endocardial cells in 48 and 72 hpf zebrafish embryos/larvae. In the study "The heart is a niche for hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells in zebrafish."
Organism Danio rerio
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary We used single-cell RNA expression to uncover the cellular and molecular heterogeneity of isolated endocardial cells in the heart. From this study, we uncovered the presence of an endocardial-hematopoietic cluster, along with other significant clusters including valve endocardial and interstitial cells, and non-valve cells.

Overall design Endocardial cells were isolated using FACS from physically extracted Tg(kdrl:nls-mCherry) and Tg(cd41:GFP) hearts according to presence of mCherry-positive cells, and further analyzed using scRNAseq.
