Summary |
Podocytes are integral to maintaining the glomerular filtration barrier and preventing proteinuria. Our previous research underscored the crucial role of podocyte guanylyl cyclase-A (GC-A) in the pathogenesis of severe albuminuria in both systemic and podocyte-specific GC-A knockout mice. In this study, we demonstrate that matrix metalloproteinase-10 (MMP-10) is highly expressed in the glomeruli of GC-A knockout mice and in the kidneys of patients with glomerulonephritis.

Systemic GC-A knockout and wild-type mice were performed uninephrectomy before aldosterone infusion and high salt diet for 3 weeks. Total glomerular RNA from these mice was subjected to microarray assay
