Title |
Methylomes of wild-type and MeCP2 knockout brain cells |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Methylation profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
By performing whole genome methylome analysis in MeCP2 knock-out mice brain, we identify both hypo- and hypermethylated regions overlapping with MeCP2 binding sites. Hypermethylation was mainly observed at CpG promoters, suggesting that MeCP2 contributes to the protection of these regions from methylation in brain.
