Morpholinos were injected in two neighbouring, animal or vegetal blastomeres on one side of the embryo, at half the dose (i.e. 40 ng total).

Growth protocol |
Xenopus laevis eggs were collected, fertilized in vitro and handled following standard procedures. Embryos were staged according to Nieuwkoop and Faber (1967).

Total cellular RNA was isolated with TRIzol (Qiagen) and phenol/chloroform extraction. On-column RNA clean-up, including a DNase digestion step, was performed using the RNeasy-Mini-Kit (Qiagen).
