Treatment protocol Duplicate 10 g samples of each tissue were ground in liquid nitrogen with mortar and pestle.
Growth protocol All tissues were collected within 15 min postmortem, snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen, and then stored at -80° C until processing.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNA was purified using a Trizol protocol (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA).
mRNA was purified, fragmented, and converted to cDNA. Adapters were ligated to the ends of double-stranded cDNA and PCR amplified to create libraries. These procedures were executed with the TruSeq RNA Sample Preparation kit of Illumina (San Diego, CA).
