|
Extracted molecule |
total RNA |
Extraction protocol |
Hypothalamus tissue was harvested from 32 strains of mice from the Mouse Diversity Panel. Total RNA was isolated from frozen tissue using Trizol, and cleaned up using an RNeasy kit (Qiagen). For the male samples, 1 ug total RNA from three separate samples was pooled and 3 ug used for cDNA synthesis and amplification. For the female samples, 1 ug total RNA from the hypothalamus of an individual mouse was used for cDNA synthesis and amplification.
