Treatment protocol |
Mice were intraperitoneally inoculated with 300 μL of PBS (control group) or a suspension of MAP ATCC 19698 (3 × 10^7 cells/mouse, MAP-challenged group). Five mice from each group were sampled at 3, 6, and 12weeks post-infection.

Extraction protocol |
Total RNA was isolated from the spleen of the experimental mice using RNeasy Mini Kit (Qiagen, Valencia, CA, USA) according to the manufacturers’ protocol. After processing with DNase digestion, clean-up procedures, RNA samples were quantified, aliquot and stored at -80°C until use. Quality control was performed with Agilent Bioanalyser.
