Label protocol Cyanine-3 (Cy3) labeled miRNA was prepared from 0.1 ug RNA using the Agilent miRNA Complete Labeling and Hybridization Kit (Agilent) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
 
Hybridization protocol The labeled miRNAs were hybridized to microarrays in a rotating hybridization oven at 10 rpm for 17 h at 55 °C.
Scan protocol After hybridization, the microarrays were washed according to the manufacturer’s protocol and scanned on an Agilent DNA Microarray Scanner G2505C with the Scan Control software (Agilent Technologies).

Data processing The scanned images were analyzed with Feature Extraction Software 10.7 (Agilent) using default parameters (protocol miRNA_107_Sep09 and Grid: 019118_D_F_20100604) to obtain background subtracted and spatially detrended Processed Signal intensities. Features flagged in Feature Extraction as Feature Non-uniform outliers were excluded.
