Extraction protocol Guts were dissociated and RNA extracted either from whole guts or from isolated EBs using a RNAeasy extraction Kit (Qiagene), followed by cDNA synthesis (Invitrogene), cRNA amplification (Epicenter biotechnologies),and Double stranded cDNA synthesis.

Label protocol Samples were labled using Nimblegene One-Color DNA labeling Kit using standard Nimblegene protocol.
 
Hybridization protocol Hybridiztion was performed using a Nimblegen hybridization system on a Drosophila melanogaster gene expression 4x72K Array (A4509001-00-01) according to Nimblegene expression array protocol.
Scan protocol arrays were scanned on a Genepix 4000B Microarray scanner (Molecular Devices) and Data was extracted using Nimblegen V2.4 software.
Description This sample is of control (dHey-Gal4>UAS-GFP) purifed Ebs derived from drosophila melanogaster female guts. It is the second of three biological replicates.
Data processing The raw data (.pair file) was subjected to RMA (Robust Multi-Array Analysis; Irizarry et al. Biostatistics 4(2):249), quantile normalization (Bolstad et al. Bioinformatics 19(2):185), and background correction as implemented in the NimbleScan software package, version ? (Roche NimbleGen, Inc.).
