Status Public on Apr 26, 2018
Title Liver_Sedentary_VitE_rep1
Sample type RNA

Source name Liver tissue from sedentary mice fed with vitamin E-enriched diet
Organism Mus musculus
Characteristics strain/background: C57BL/6N
age: 11-12 weeks
gender: Male
tissue: Liver
diet: vitamin E enriched
exercise: sedentary
Treatment protocol As described in the paper. Briefly, mice were assigned to either a diet supplemented with 100 mg/kg vitamin C and 2,000 IU/kg vitamin E (as α-tocopheryl acetate) or to control diet (0 mg/kg vitamin C, 149 IU/kg vitamin E) based on the purified diet C1000 (Altromin, Lage, Germany). After 4 weeks of feeding, at an age of 11-12 weeks, the animals were subjected to an acute bout of exercise (60 min at 13 m/min and 14° inclination) on a treadmill as described previously (Hoene et al., 2010). Mice remaining in their cages, but in close proximity to the treadmill, served as controls and were deprived of food for the last 60 min before they were killed, to align with the feeding state of the exercised group.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNeasy Fibrous Tissue Kit (Qiagen) including DNase digestion.
Label biotin
Label protocol Ovation Pico WTA System V2 and Encore Biotin Module (Nugen).

Hybridization protocol According to the Affymetrix expression protocol (HWS kit) including minor changes as suggested by the Encore Biotin protocol.
Scan protocol According to the Affymetrix expression protocol (GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G).
Description Sed_VitE_2413
Gene expression data from liver tissue from sedentary mice fed with vitamin E-enriched diet, biological replicate 1.
Data processing RMA probeset summary with standard settings of the Affymetrix Expression Console software (build 1.4.1.46) including median polish and Sketch-Quantile normalisation.
