Sampled after fasting for 24h, the fish were anesthetized with MS-222. Their livers were collected from three groups and immediately snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen, stored at -80? until use.

Common carp (body weight 492.6 ± 30g) were randomly divided into three groups (n = 90 for each group), three repetitions in each group. Group AD, MD, PD fed with earthworm, earthworm+ duckweed (1:1) and duckweed, respectively.

| Data processing |
The Illumina Hiseq 4000 platform generated the mRNA-Seq raw reads was processed with Perl scripts to ensure the quality of data used in further analysis.
Genome_build: The reads were mapped to the carp genome (cyprinus carpio from http://www.carpbase.org/download_home.php)
Supplementary_files_format_and_content: Reads Count for each gene in each sample was counted by (HTSeq v0.6.0), and RPKM (Reads Per Kilo base Million Mapped Reads) was then calculated to estimate the expression level of genes.
