All cell lines were untreated prior to SNP analysis.

| Growth protocol |
KG-1 and U937 were grown in RPMI supplemented with 10 % fetal calf serum and 1 % penicillin/streptomycin. UCSD-AML1 and ELF-153 were grown in RPMI supplemented with 20 % fetal calf serum, 1 % penicillin/streptomycin and 5 ng/ml human GM-CSF.

Genomic DNA was extracted using the Quiagen DNeasy Blood and Tissue DNA extraction Kit according to manufacturer's protocol.
