Extraction protocol |
1 ml whole blood from each subject was collected in the occipital sinus in EDTA tubes. After centrifugation, 250 μL of blood was diluted in a tube containing 750 μL of TRIzol® reagent (Sigma, USA, T9294). Total RNA was extracted according to the manufacturer's instructions and resuspended in 50 μL of H2O. RNA libraries were prepared for sequencing using standard Illumina protocols

Data processing |
RNA samples from three FOP patients and three health controls were sequenced using a standard Illumina protocol. Reads were mapped to a human genome (hg19) by using hisat2 (v2.1). Gene counts were estimated by HTSeq (0.11). Genome_build: hg19 Supplementary_files_format_and_content: text with raw gene counts for every gene and every sample
