Growth protocol |
Tissues were collected from 10 week old male rats. Liver tissue was snap frozen and maintained at -80°C until RNA extraction. Brain frontal cortex and kidney tissues were stored in RNAlaterTM (ThermoFisher P/N AM7020) following the manufacturer’s instructions until RNA extraction.

Total RNA was extracted from tissues using TRIzolTM Reagent (ThermoFisher P/N 15596018) according to the manufacturer's recommended procedures.

Sense target cDNA was prepared from 125ng of total RNA using the Ambion® WT Expression Kit (Life Technologies P/N 4411973). cDNA was fragmented and biotin-labeled using the Affymetrix® GeneChip® WT Terminal Labeling Kit (Affymetrix P/N 900671).

Hybridization protocol |
Five micrograms of cDNA was hybridized for 16h at 45C on a Rat Gene 2.0 ST GeneChip array.

Scan protocol |
GeneChips were scanned using the Affymetrix GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G.

Data processing |
Probe signals were quantile normalized and summarized by the RMA algorithm using the Affymetrix Expression Console v1.1 software
