RNA was prepared using the Trizol Reagent (Invitrogen, Carlsbad, CA) and Rneasy micro kit (Qiagen, Valencia, CA) following the manufacturer's recommendations. The RNA quality and integrity were analyzed with Nanodrop ND 1000 spectrophotometer (Rockland, DE) and Bioanalyzer (Agilent, Cheshire, UK).

Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Affymetrix protocol from 100ng total RNA (Two-Cycle cDNA Synthesis Kit and IVT labeling kit).

Following fragmentation, 20 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C onAffymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 400 (EukGE-Ws2v4).

GeneChips were scanned using the GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G (Affymetrix).
