Treatment protocol For these samples, cells were seeded and allowed to adhere. Then, they were serum starved overnight (16hr) followed by 24hr in the presence of the full media with DMSO or carmofur. Cell pellets were isolated at the end of that 24hr.
Growth protocol Gibco phenol red-free DMEM/F12 containing 2.5 mM L-glutamine and 17.5 mM glucose and supplemented with 10% FBS, B27 equivalent-Gem 21 (Gemini Biosciences), 20 ng/ml epidermal growth factor and fibroblast growth factor basic, 1% sodium pyruvate, and 1% penicillin/streptomycin. 5% CO2 and 21% O2
