RNA was harvested using RNA extraction kit (Qiagen). 0.5µl of total RNA was used for the construction of sequencing libraries.
RNA libraries for RNA-seq were prepared using the TruSeq Stranded mRNA Library Preparation Kit (Illumina) according to manufacturer’s instructions

Sequencing was performed at 25 million reads/sample with 75 nt read length on the NextSeq 500 platform (Illumina)
Illumina reads were quality- and adapter-trimmed via Cutadapt version 2.5 using a cutoff Phred score of 20 in NextSeq mode, and reads without any remaining bases were discarded
Processed reads were subsequently mapped to the mouse genome (GRCm38.p6) using STAR v2.7.2b with default parameters.
Read count were generated using featureCounts v1.6.4 from the Subread package
