Treatment protocol Mice were orderd at 7 weeks of age and singly housed for 1 week. They were sacrificed by cervical dislocation at 9 am. Brains were quickly removed, rinsed with PBS, and placed on a filter paper on a petri dish filled with ice. Frontal cortex (cortical tissue dissected from a slice spanning Bregma -1.5 - -3.5) and the entire hippocampus were dissected and immediately frozen in liquid nitrogen, and stored at -80 °C until RNA extraction.
