Data processing |
The raw colorspace reads containing inserts derived from 20-25nt RNAs were identified by searching for 3' matches (allowing up to two mismatches) to the sequencing adapter sequence (in colorspace); the inferred adapter sequences were then trimmed, leaving 20-25nt colorspace reads. These data were then translated into DNA space while simultaneously discarding any reads with ambiguous (e.g., one or more "." characters) data. The data in the Sample data tables are simple counts of each of these 20-25nt total RNAs.
