Total RNA was extracted from CD14+ isolated monocytes and monocyte-derived macrophages using the miRNA easy Micro Kit (Qiagen), following the manufacturer’s instructions. Briefly, RNA was extracted using a phenol-chloroform mixture, precipitated in ethanol, and purified using RNase-free columns.
