Arabidopsis thaliana Columbia-0 ecotype (Col0) and the root meristemless1 (rml1) mutant were grown on vertical plates containing PANG2 medium (1 mM KNO3; 150 µM CaCl2; 100 µM NaH2PO4; 20 µM MgSO4, micronutrients; 0.5 g.L-1 0.5 % sucrose and MES buffer pH 5.7) under an irradiance of 150 µmol*m-2*s-1 with a 16 h photoperiod and a temperature of 20ºC with 50 % relative humidity for 7 days.

Extraction protocol |
Plants of the rml1 and Columbia-0 ecotype were harvested, separated into roots and shoots, immediately frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80ºC until RNA extraction was performed. Total RNA was extracted from frozen shoots and roots using the RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany) according to the manufacturer’s protocol.
